Our NHS is under attack. Nine A&Es across London are under threat of closure, while the government agrees billion pound deals with private companies to sell off big chunks of our health service. Locally, health bosses shut down the A&Es, maternity units and children’s wards at St Helier and Epsom hospitals – which will overwhelm services at Kingston Hospital with new patients.
It’s time to fight back to save the NHS. That’s why UNISON, the TUC and others have come together to call for an enormous demonstration outside Tory Party Conference on Sunday 29th September in Manchester. We want to see hundreds of thousands of people, drawn from every workplace and every community, to come together to send a message to Cameron and co – hands off our NHS, hands off jobs and services.
The NHS is the proudest achievement of ordinary people in Britain. It’s there for us when we’re at our most vulnerable. Now the NHS is vulnerable, and we have to be there to fight for it.
Kingston Keep Our NHS Public and local union branches will be putting on transport to the demonstration. It’ll cost £10 for workers for a ticket, or £5 for students, OAPs and the unemployed.
